Text Box: The Ed Bargy Racing School is not just for the racer.  It is for any rider who wishes to improve his or her riding skills. The street rider, track-day rider and the aspiring racer can all benefit from formal training in a structured school.  Why not take advantage of the most experienced teacher in the country?  In the school you will learn proper riding techniques such as but not limited to: , handlebar feedback, body position, analyzing your line, braking dynamics, proper steering techniques, shifting,  throttle control,  knee dragging plus much much more!

Text Box: About The School Day

The school day is divided up between formal classroom sessions and live track time.  Each classroom session will cover one specific advanced riding technique.  The lecture is then followed by the live track session.  This will allow the student to work on each technique while it is still fresh in memory.   To maintain consistency in the material covered Ed Bargy is the main classroom instructor.  Ed will on occasion bring in outside experts such as tire and chassis professionals for an added lecture.

Students ride their own motorcycle.  This will allow the student to ride a machine he or she is familiar with.  The student doesn't  have to worry about learning a different bike while trying to learn new techniques.

Even though the school has evolved over several decades and is very comprehensive, there are times a student will have a new question which has not been answered during the classroom lectures.  Students are encouraged to ask questions.  There are no stupid questions, except for the one which does not get asked.  Our job on school days is to pass information on to the students. If you are not getting the information you need let us know.
If you what to know ASK!

Text Box: Students will not be required to follow instructors all day.  In the afternoon sessions, students will have several options available, they can either  ride on their own without following, to work on each technique at their own pace or elect to follow an instructor.  In the afternoon sessions the students can also have a specific instructor follow them for some extra pointers.

Text Box: About The Track Sessions

There are several track-side instructors/observers to give pointers on your riding during the day.  The instructors will be on pit road when the students come out of the classroom.  The instructors will be lined up at pit out.  Different instructors will work with different skill level riders.  Usually the instructor lined up next to the track-side of pit road will work with the most experienced (quickest) students.  Each successive instructor in the line will work with the more conservative students, with the most conservative lined up closest to the paddock side of pit road.  Students are never pushed to ride beyond their own comfort level.

EBRS has both male and female instructors to provide a wide range of expertise to the student.

Text Box: About The Different Course Levels
During a regularly scheduled school day the students have several options available.
Full, Advanced  School.  This is for the first time Ed Bargy students.   Student don't need to be advanced riders to take this course.  Students wishing to improve their skills, will learn the advanced and proper riding techniques.  Graduates will be Full Race Certified by passing the written test at the end of the day, demonstrating a reasonable grasp of the techniques covered and  reasonably good lap times.  Graduates not meeting these requirements are issued a Nonracing Trackday Certification.  This NTC will give the graduate opportunity to attend trackdays and improve his/her skills.  The NTC can be upgraded to a full race certification at any future EBRS trackday
Recertification.  This is for the   previous "Ed Bargy Racing School" graduate/racer returning to the sport after an extended break from racing.  These students are required to attend the race procedure lectures.  They have the option to attend the riding technique lectures or not.  These students will be required to pass the written test at the end of the day.  (proof of previous graduation required)
Refresher. This is a vary popular option.  It is for  previous "Ed Bargy Racing School" graduates who wish to attend the school again.  Many say they really enjoyed the school the first time, but, get a lot more out of the school when they take it a second time.  The refresher students have the option of picking which lectures to attend.  They can sit though one or all of the classroom sessions.  Refreshers are not required to take the written test at the end of the day.  Refreshers are requested to bring their own text book or purchase a new book at during registration for $10.00 (proof of previous graduation required)

Text Box: About Crashing

In a word  "DON'T"

There is no reason for student to crash.  Students are not required to ride over their own limits or comfort level.  Students who crash from riding too aggressively fail the course and need to take the entire course over again.
